Ahead of the Never Mind the Buzzcocks (again!) event held in Venue 1 on Monday night (3rd May), STAR News sat down with organisers Lewis Roy, Andrew Baird and Sarah Tyler, as well as with panelists Aria Danesh, Alex Dixon, Catriona Macleod, Sam Barnett and Ben Dunant.

On Sunday, the 2nd of May, STAR's political show 'Coffee and Tea' sat down with Michael Scott-Hayward, the UK Independence Party candidate for North East Fife, ahead of the UK General Election. Also look for interviews with Liberal Democrat Sir Ming Campbell and Conservative Miles Briggs. Candidates from Labour and the SNP were unable to give interviews.

Last week Cordula Schnuer from the STAR News Team sat down with Rector Kevin Dunion to chat about the past academic year. They reviewed some of the highlights of this year, such as the People's Summit which took place in opposition to the G20 or the recent On the Rocks festival. Kevin also talked more about his role as the Rector of the University of St Andrews and his time in office so far. STAR discussed some of the challenges facing the University such as affordability and the Union refurbishment and the Rector's role as the Chair of the University Court.

On Monday, the 26th of April, the Union Debating Society hosted their version the BBC's 'Question Time', asking MP candidates of Fife North-East to answer students' questions. Candidates representing the UK Independence Party, Liberal Democrats, Labour Party, and Conservative Party give their positions on variety of topics. While attempts were made to include the Scottish National Party, their representative was unable to attend the debate.
